Oracle Introduces Lifetime Support Policy
15th Sep 08
Oracle has announced its support policy for all current and legacy releases of Hyperion products. Most pre-Hyperion System 9 modules were placed on "Sustaining Support" as of September 2008. This impacts on existing Hyperion Enterprise users in that all releases up to and including 6.3.1 and Enterprise Reporting 3.9.1 lose their Premier Support level this month. No extended support offering is available as an extra cost from Oracle, resulting in the base "Sustaining Support" model that will not benefit many users should patches be required.
This leaves existing Hyperion Enterprise users with one of three choices:
- Upgrade to a more recent release of the product (note Enterprise 6.4 loses Premier Support August 2010) with Enterprise 6.5 continuing with Premier Support until April 2013.
- Upgrade to Hyperion Financial Management
- Protect your current investment by deploying your existing Hyperion Enterprise software and applications using a thin client solution such as Terminal Server or Citrix, that isolates your installation from the need to upgrade in line with Microsoft office or platform releases. We would also recommend that you consider adding an application support programme from service suppliers such as ourselves for piece of mind.
Enterprise 6.5 Migration Package
Concentric Solutions offers an Enterprise 6.5 migration package at a fixed cost allowing those running earlier releases to migrate efficiently and in the knowledge of how much it will cost. Furthermore, for a limited period only, we are offering FREE administrator upgrade training for existing administrative users of your applications.
HFM Upgrades
Concentric Solutions also offers a wide range of consulting support to assist customers in upgrading from Hyperion Enterprise to Hyperion Financial Management. We have extensive knowledge of upgrading from Enterprise to HFM and can draw on real world experience from a number of projects, that helps validate our approach. An upgrade to HFM requires full review of processes, technical infrastructure and applications (models). If you are considering a migration to HFM, we would be delighted to offer your company a FREE session with one of our expert consultants, to help assist and qualify your thinking.
