Oracle Launches Hyperion Enterprise 6.5

Oracle has just released Enterprise 6.5, the first major new release of the Enterprise product in two years. Thankfully there are a number of long-awaited enhancements, and better integration with other Hyperion products by virtue of an Enterprise version of FDM, and the launch of SmartView for Enterprise.

A summary of the new features includes:

• Support for Microsoft Vista and Office 2007
• Addition of Hyperion SmartView MS-Office integration (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
• Support for FDM - the data integration and automation tool, with the associated benefits in auditability and submission workflows.
• Ability to show labels and descriptions in Data Entry
• Enhanced error messaging and controls
• New security access reports
• Ability to perform FULL backups whilst users are in the system
• New server administration console
• Messaging Server
• Ability to print to PDF (Enterprise Reporting) with in-built PDF driver
